Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
Inspire Made By Sudarshan Limited operates the MIA Classroom learning product. Contact: hello@miaclassroom.com.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect:
- Parent / guardian account data: name, email address, password (stored as a hash), phone/WhatsApp number (if provided), country, and account preferences.
- Child profile data: display name or nickname, student code, PIN (stored securely), country/exam context, progress, scores, streaks, badges, notes activity, and related learning analytics. We ask parents to use first names or nicknames where possible — avoid unnecessary personal details.
- Payment-related data: payment status, amounts, currency, order/reference IDs, and tokens needed to confirm unlocks. Card details are handled by our payment processor (e.g. WiPay); we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Technical data: IP address, browser/device type, cookies or similar identifiers, referral codes, approximate location derived from IP or your country selection, and logs needed for security and operations.
- Communications: messages you send us (email, WhatsApp, or in-product support).
3. Children’s information
MIA Classroom is designed for parents/guardians to create and supervise child learning profiles. Children should not create parent accounts. Parents are responsible for the information they enter about their children and for supervising use of the Service.
We collect child-related data only as provided by the parent/guardian (or generated through the child’s supervised use of the Service) to deliver learning features, progress tracking, and parent reports. We do not knowingly sell children’s personal information.
If you believe we hold a child’s data without proper parental authority, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it where appropriate.
4. How we use information
We use information to:
- Create and manage accounts, child profiles, and access entitlements;
- Deliver educational content, progress tracking, reports, and related features;
- Process payments and prevent fraud or abuse;
- Communicate about the Service (including support, security notices, and transactional messages);
- Improve the Service, fix bugs, and analyse aggregated usage;
- Enforce our Terms, protect our rights, and comply with law;
- Send limited product updates or offers where permitted — you may opt out of non-essential marketing messages.
We do not sell your personal information to third-party advertisers.
5. Legal bases (where applicable)
Where data-protection laws require a legal basis, we rely on: performance of a contract (providing the Service you requested); legitimate interests (securing and improving the Service, preventing abuse); consent (where we ask for it, e.g. optional marketing); and legal obligation when required.
6. Sharing of information
We may share information with:
- Service providers who help us operate the Service (hosting, databases, email/SMS, analytics, payment processing), under obligations to protect the data;
- Payment processors such as WiPay to complete transactions;
- Professional advisors (legal, accounting) when needed;
- Authorities when required by law, court order, or to protect safety, rights, or property;
- A successor entity if the Company is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer — subject to this Policy’s spirit.
We do not share student learning data publicly. Parent reports are visible to the logged-in parent account that owns the child profile.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functions (session login, country preference, referral tracking, security). Disabling certain cookies may break sign-in or core features. By using the Service, you consent to our use of cookies as described here.
8. Data retention
We retain account and learning data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal/accounting requirements. We may delete or anonymise data after account closure or prolonged inactivity, subject to backup and legal hold needs. Payment records may be kept longer for tax and fraud prevention.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information (including hashed passwords and access controls). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping passwords, student codes, and PINs confidential and for using secure devices. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for unauthorised access resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control or from your failure to safeguard credentials.
10. International transfers
The Service may be hosted or processed in countries other than your own. By using MIA Classroom, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations, including where data-protection laws may differ.
11. Your choices and requests
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you (and, as parent/guardian, about your child profiles). Contact hello@miaclassroom.com. We may need to verify your identity and may retain certain data where legally required or permitted (e.g. payment records, fraud prevention).
Deleting an account may permanently remove access to paid content with no refund, as set out in our Terms & Conditions.
12. Third-party links
The Service may link to third-party sites or tools. Their privacy practices are their own. We are not responsible for third-party content or policies.
13. Disclaimers related to privacy outcomes
While we aim to protect data appropriately, you use the Service at your own risk. Parents remain responsible for what information they enter about children and for supervising how devices and accounts are used. We are not responsible for privacy incidents caused by shared devices, disclosed PINs, phishing, or third-party breaches outside our control, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy by posting a revised version on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Policy. Material changes may also be highlighted on the Service or by email where appropriate.
15. Governing law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Trinidad and Tobago, consistent with our Terms & Conditions.
